Our egg layers follow closely behind our cowherd on pasture cleaning up behind them as they graze. This enables the chickens to have the diet nature intended, and to exercise their natural abilities- pecking, scratching, and foraging! This activity has a two-fold affect. One, it breaks the life cycle of the fly in the cow manure so that we do not have to treat our cattle with medications. Two, it spreads the cow manure which cultivates it into our pastures as a natural fertilizer. The byproduct of this beautiful relationship is a delicious egg low in cholesterol and high in vitamins and omega 3s- far superior to any eggs in the supermarket!
